What is the difference between additional applied science & 21st century science?

Is one harder or better than the other? Or are they roughly equivalent? I have AA in additional applied science. Just curious as a college I am interested in requests an A in 21st century.

Applied science is the application of scientific knowledge transferred into a physical environment. Examples include testing a theoretical model through the use of formal science, or solving a practical problem through the use of natural science. (Ref wiki)

(the all science which is applied)

Twenty First Century Science is a syllabus of GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education)Sciences, which was trialed before released into schools. Teaching of this syllabus began in September 2006
